NASCAR NEWS UPDATES – APRIL 2019
Coke Zero Sugar 400 Shuffled to Last Race of NASCAR Season
To start off this week’s blog, I am posting a brief but important update in the ever-changing world of NASCAR. If you plan on attending NASCAR events in the coming months, please visit the website for full schedule and ticketing details.
It is fitting for the birthplace of speed to host both the beginning and end of the NASCAR season, and this is exactly what is scheduled with the recent move of the Coke Zero Sugar 400 to Daytona Beach next year. Scheduled for August 29th, 2020, the Coke Zero 400 will move, indefinitely, from its normal date on July 6th. Though the race will not diminish in the slightest as “a cornerstone event of the NASCAR schedule,” per speedway President Chip Wile, the event will likely undergo slight changes to accommodate its new date. For more information, visit the Daytona International speedway website for ticketing and scheduling.
DAYTONA EVENT UPDATES
While the rest of the country is still shaking off the last remnants of snow and sleet from a long winter, the attendees to Jeep Beach 2019 are gearing up for a sultry cruise down Daytona’s famous sandy highways to flaunt their tricked out Jeeps both new and antique. Daytona boasts some of the longest treks of drivable beach in the country, making the locale ideal for the hundreds of jeeps that will converge the week of April 22-28.
It’s not all fun and games, though, Since its first iteration in 2012, Jeep Beach in Daytona has brought in over a million dollars for charities. There are dozens of opportunities to spend money for a good cause, including a yearly raffle for a brand new Jeep! Not bad. If you are interested in registering your jeep for this event, be sure to visit the registration and info page.
BEACH BIKE BAR CRAWL 2019
What better way to amble from bar to bar than from the comfort of your cushioned beach cruiser? Hundreds will be turning out this April 13th to form a boozy pelaton of bikes and sip margaritas in the sun and sand. Though this is a relatively new event in the area, it has already garnered a cult following of locals and tourists alike. Join the party and get tickets in advance be visiting the website. A percentage of all costs benefit veteran support funds!
Having withdrawals from last month’s Irish festivities? Fret not! The 2019 Celtic Festival offers the most fun and authentic Irish fare this side of the Emerald Isles. With traditional music, games, and, of course, plenty of libations, you’ll swear you were ambling down the cobblestone streets of Killarney. Well… save for the swaying palms and daiquiris. The event website offers early bird tickets, so be sure to buy before you go.
